It was decl ared an independent country in August 24 of the socio-economic class 1991.Russias population is 143,782, 338 (July 2004 est.) Its size is 6.5 million sq. mi. or 17 million sq. Km.Russians practice th following religions Russian Orthodox, Islamic, Jewish, Roman Catholic, Protestant, Buddhistic and other. Their mane language is Russian.LOCATIONRussia is in Eurasia and it is neighbor of 13 countries Finland, Norway, Estonia, Latvia, Belarus, Ukraine, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Kazaksta, China, Mongolia, south-central Korea and Lithuania.GEPGRAPHY There are broad plains, low hills, vast coniferous forest, uplands and mountains in Russia. There is tundra in Siberia and a northern continental climate that is among subarctic to subtropical.ECONOMYEconomy grows 7.3% a year. Russias natural resources are petroleum, natural gas, timber and furs. Agriculture produ cts are grain, sugar beets, sunflower seeds, eye and dairy products. This country exports petroleum and petroleum products, natural gas, forests and wood products, metals, chemicals and military manufacturs.GOVERNMENTRussias president is Vladimir Putin and its prime look is Mikhail Fradkov. FOODRussians eat a lot of hearty diet because cold climates call for them.One example is kasha, a boiled grain, lots cooked with onions and mushrooms.Thick vegetables and fish soups served with lots of fillling bread are also eaten in the country.
